One of Australia's most comprehensive regional health services

Formed in 1998, Barwon Health is one of the largest regional health services in Australia, providing care at all stages of life. We serve over 500,000 people across Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast and the entire south-west region of Victoria.

With the longest established Emergency Department in the state, University Hospital Geelong treats close to 84,000 patients per year. With access to all major specialties except neurosurgery and transplant medicine, the variety and acuity of conditions treated ensures a genuinely stimulating work environment.

Our geographic location means high exposure to trauma, marine and land-based toxinology, and medical outreach to more peripheral centres. We're a Tier 1 Major Referral site — and we punch well above our regional weight.

  • Previous international recruits happy to share their experience
